Abstract:

Ultra-Wide-Band (UWB) radio is a promising solution for high-rate wireless communications over short ranges. This paper investigates the Multi-Band Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MB-OFDM) based physical (PHY) layer proposal for IEEE 802.15.3a working group on short-range high data-rate UWB communications. An overview of the MB-OFDM PHY layer architecture is presented. Next, the performance of MB-OFDM UWB system is analyzed using different IEEE channel models. Finally, it was shown that MB-OFDM system outperforms the DS-UWB system in terms of Bit Error Rate (BER).

57A New UWB Frequency Domain Receiver
Karima Ben Hamida El Abri
Ammar Bouallegue

Abstract:

In this paper, we propose a new receiver structure; we called FDR (Frequency Domain Receiver) and which is based on Time-Frequency transformation of the received signal. Then, we will give an analytical simplification of the proposed receiver. Simulation results show that the proposed receiver outperforms the classical differential especially in the presence of multiple users in the channel.
